Thursday started with me wearing my painter's overalls. My first task was applying the second coat of paint to the studio floor. Although I love the idea of a pristine studio, the process is a bit of a pain. Moving everything aside then painting but knowing it's for a good cause gives me the boost I need. Fortunately, the floor dried enough overnight so I could crack on in the morning.

By late morning, it was time to switch gears. I hopped onto my digital workspace to write the newsletter set for next Thursday. I don't usually plan so far in advance, but given my upcoming London trip, it needed to be done. Writing the newsletter felt more like a relaxing task after the physical work of painting. I managed to drive through the bulk of it, though the intro may need a tweak or two before it goes out.

A little afternoon snack was warranted between bites of mixed nuts and skimming through other newsletters. It's amazing how much content people share each week, but I've learnt that skimming sometimes suffices. I only dive into them when they promise something novel. Otherwise, it's easy to become bogged down, and I've settled with the idea of skipping less interesting ones without feeling guilty.

I'm rather pleased with today's productivity. Painting the studio and wrapping up the newsletter has left me with a sense of accomplishment. Ideally, it'd be wonderful to just walk into a ready-studio and get crafting, but the DIY life comes with its headaches.

Reflecting, a small gratitude list comes to mind: the nearly dry floor, friends with whom I can bounce ideas off, and those other newsletters I browse through.

The day's pace has been enjoyable, with a nice balance between physical tasks and creative pursuits. Tomorrow is another day, with its own to-dos waiting to be crossed off the list. But today, I'll sign off content, finding joy in checking things off and moving a step closer to a fully set studio. How satisfying.
