Today was a whirlwind of video recording and editing. I kicked things off early at 7:37, diving into the brush height video. Always fun to start the day with a bit of creative chaos, right? Managed to record a good chunk before Chris showed up and it was all compressors and sculpture noise from upstairs. Never a dull moment in the studio.

Kept at the video editing in the early afternoon. Around 14:20, I was knee-deep in pixels and timelines, piecing together the footage. It’s a strangely satisfying puzzle, and I quite enjoy finding the right sequences that make everything click. But boy, does it take time!

Took a mini-break at 14:45. By "mini-break," I mean continuing to edit but perhaps blinking a bit more. Tried to remember the 50 minutes work, 10 minutes break routine, but got so engrossed that time slipped away. Must be better at that; my brain will thank me later.

Reflecting on the brush height video progress, I'm pretty chuffed. Got halfway through, which was more than I expected. The rest should be straightforward—recorded a solid first half on Friday and managed to wrap up more today. Looking forward to exporting and uploading it before my Zoom meeting tomorrow afternoon.

In terms of productivity and self-care balance, the plan was to work 50 minutes and take breaks. Spoiler alert: I didn’t stick to it. I kept working without pauses. I know breaks are essential, need to be more disciplined. Tomorrow’s another shot at it.

One insight from today is the benefit of stretching projects over a few days. I split the video recording over today and Friday, and same with editing—first part today, aiming to finish tomorrow. This approach feels less overwhelming and keeps my momentum.

Outside of the creative bubble, I did tackle a few errands: drove to the recycling centre and took care of some electronic donations. Also, planned an essay for the afternoon, though it might spill into tomorrow given today’s video focus.

All in all, a productive start to what's looking like a busy week.
