The Drawing Machine
Got some Molotow empty pens, that I can fill with ink/paint. They're much like the POSCA pens but I can now see how much ink/paint is in each one, and cheaper to!
Below is a selection of development diaries for projects I'm working on. I try to keep these up to date; if I've been working on something then I tend to post an update at the end of the day. This is my alternative to posting on social media.
Most recent updates are at the top.

Part of the FALLiNGWATER project was making a soundtrack to go with it, which was published on Spotify. As I'm slowly moving away from online services I figured I should turn the soundtrack into a mixtape.
Just a bit of fun, but now I have an analog way to listen to the soundtrack.
Well this is a fun new development in envelope making.
Figured that as the stamping was going well, and POSCA pens needed "priming", which is pretty much the same as stamping, I could stick POSCA pens in there instead of the stamps.
It actually kinda worked!!
Added another new tool to Kitty. This is a desktop conference mic/speaker. It has four mics pointing in the four directions and pretty good background noise cancelling. After trying out the dictaphone with Kitty (words great), I also wanted something that would be always listening and transcribing. So as I...
Had to help a couple of people use the Riso machine, and as I hadn't used it myself for a couple of weeks I wanted to make sure it was still working okay, as they don't like to stand doing nothing for too long. Quickly sketched a ghost, and printed...
I've taken to writing in the greenhouse in the morning, and decided to sew a couple of notebooks while I was in there.
Popped into the studio this morning, to make sure I got all the zines done in time to send off on Monday. Here's the rest of the pages all cut and folded and ready to put together.
I've refined the pen holder design a little bit. I've decided to just go with TWSBI sized, which is fractionally too small for LAMY pens. But if I make it a little bigger the TWSBI wobbles around a bit and it just feels a bit off. I can of course...
And another jump in time 😅 Since starting the project I bought myself a printer, and having decided after all my pen plotting ink tests that I did indeed want to use the inks I figured it was time to focus on the design and try to move the whole...
Okay, back at it today, and a few more passes, and I kinda love it.
The colours really pop in the photos and it just looks like a wonderful thing to have going on in a drawing machine.
Another part of me is worried about all that dust near the machine though, so 🤷♂️
Hmmmmm, I should really upload and back-date all the handwriting photos I have so far, but as I'm starting these dev diaries now I guess I have to start somewhere. These photos were taken so I could add them to my newsletter, but I didn't use them in the end....
