JOURNALS

Bank Holiday Monday today, but I still dragged myself into the studio first thing to tackle that work thing I've been avoiding. Funny how sometimes your brain just puts up a wall against perfectly straightforward tasks. Nothing complicated about it, just couldn't get my head in the right space last week. Made good progress though - pushed past that mental block and now it's just formatting stuff. Small victories.

The main focus today was my daughter's birthday. Had to make her a tattoo token since she wants money towards getting inked. It's always a bit weird just transferring cash these days - "Happy birthday, check your Monzo!" doesn't have quite the same gift-giving energy. So I wanted to create something physical she could unwrap, a little token of effort to go with the digital money transfer.

Yesterday was super productive in the studio. Got all my rubber stamps organised in that custom holder I 3D printed - they fit perfectly! So satisfying seeing them all lined up instead of scattered everywhere. Also got all the zine envelopes addressed for the postcard exchange. Just need to write on the backs of the postcards and pop them in the envelopes, which I'll do tomorrow.

The rest of this week looks pretty straightforward. Now that the zines are ready to go out tomorrow lunchtime, I'm planning to split my days between tutorial scripts (two hours in the mornings) and sorting my website (one hour). Since I'm not doing social media anymore, I need a better way to share my own content on my site. The current system is too complicated and slow, especially for uploading photos and connecting them to projects.

But for now, it's home to celebrate the birthday with some cooking and family time. Sometimes the best days are the ones with a bit of work, a bit of making, and a lot of the people you care about.
