Saturday's been one of those in-between days. I'm still on cat sitting duty, waiting for eldest child to return from Wales. The cat seems pretty content, wandering about the place doing cat things while I'm just... waiting.

Had a bit of a plan shuffle this morning. Originally thought I'd nip into town early to grab that birthday card, then be back before they arrived. But they messaged to say they were setting off, so I've had to flip things around. Town on weekends is always a bit much anyway. Looking forward to getting the card, not so much braving the Saturday crowds.

Spent most of the morning just chilling really. Sorted through some emails, which feels productive but isn't actually accomplishing much. Funny how we trick ourselves into thinking email management counts as real work.

The plan for today is pretty straightforward - wait for eldest child to get back, hand over the keys, drive home and unload all the stuff I've somehow accumulated here over the week. Then it's into town for that birthday card, followed by designing a tattoo token this evening. Birthdays are always interesting with what people ask for - this year it's contributions towards a tattoo, so that's what we're doing.

Tomorrow's still up in the air. Might need to go into the studio if I'm taking middle child to that thing in Wales on Wednesday. If I'm not taking them, then maybe I can actually relax. Novel concept, that.

Been thinking about what might make today special, or what non-work creative thing I could do, and honestly drawing a blank. Maybe reading? The most special thing might just be not expecting anything special. There's something quite nice about a day with no pressure to be amazing.

The biggest achievement today will probably be designing that tattoo token. Everything else is just life admin really - necessary but not exactly thrilling.
