Ah, Friday, if it isn't the day that teases the weekend but also demands wrapping up the week’s work. I started my morning switching out oil pastels for the oil crayons. Turns out it's slicker than I anticipated—not quite children’s crayons but close. The hunt for the right paper is still ongoing. Smooth ones just aren’t cutting it, so there's more experimenting on the horizon. Maybe the crayons need a bit of downward pressure. That's a nut for tomorrow.

The day zoomed by quicker than anticipated. My work and studio tasks were competing for attention. I was determined to cram everything in, knowing I needed to dash off early. Dropping the tail onto my Weeknotes video was a priority. It's nice having tasks like video uploading ticking along in the background. Between drinking loads of water, and taking those essential breaks, I managed to stay steady without getting too distracted.

With a shortened day, I had a slightly frantic vibe. I found myself running around more than usual, especially when you’ve got to drive the middle child across counties. It’s always fun announcing we’re “off to the middle of nowhere” though. The studio got left in a state—in good company with my mind by the end of it.

Despite the chaos, the ability to drive around without tire issues made me grateful. Oh, and shoutout to whoever tidied up the garden—one less thing on my list. Tomorrow promises studio tidying, with a side of creating those personalized birthday cards. I also need to balance some journal-edging thoughts, maybe tidy up both literal and mental spaces. Really, the week ending on a hurrah of productivity and small gratitudes is worth it.

Here’s to more oil crayon adventures and hoping the elusive ideal paper will present itself soon. No need for tea or coffee to keep this ship sailing—keeping it simple with water served me well today. Cheers to the weekend.
