JOURNALS

Close up of pixel shifting

Today was pretty steady, exactly what I needed. I focused on planning out the week and didn't rush anything, which really helped keep stress levels down. The main task was getting the shop up and running, but no need to sprint, right?

First thing in the morning, I added code to rescale SVGs without doing the hidden line removal. By mid-morning, I took some photos and videos of a new pen plot and then queued up another pixelshifted penplot – lots of visuals today, which was exciting. I nipped out at lunchtime to the estate agent – still one more thing to check off before the studio sale can go ahead. It's frustrating how long it's taking. Felt a bit disheartened but not too bad. I’m used to these updates dragging on now.

Back at the studio around midday, I set some plots away and started editing some photos. It’s nice to see the artwork come to life in different formats. By early afternoon, it was time to get ready for the teaching workshop. The session went well, wrapped it up by 4 PM and it was satisfying to help others get the hang of things.

Reflecting on the day, I'm pleased with how everything panned out. While I didn't get the shop code done, I enjoyed working on the code and plots. It’s nice to have a flexible plan. The estate agent visit was a bit of a downer, continually being told just one more thing is wearing thin. But... deep breaths and keeping hydrated helped.

I’m glad I didn't set a crazy pace, taking it slow allowed me to stay cool in the warm studio. I stayed focused but didn’t burn myself out. All in all, not a bad day. Here’s hoping tomorrow brings more progress.
