Ah, Friday. The day that teases the weekend but still asks for a bit more work. Today was a surprisingly busy and reflective day, starting off with some video editing. Dropped this week’s footage onto the timeline first thing in the morning. It’s always an interesting exercise, figuring out the narrative from those raw clips.

Jury duty dominated the early part of my day. A lot of waiting, as expected. Not the most stimulating environment, but you can’t always predict how that’ll go. Again, lots of sitting around. I can tell you one thing it doesn’t inspire: creativity. But hey, public duty calls.

Once I was finally out of jury duty, I dove into the digital world and started faffing around with SubStack settings. Wanted to get everything in good order, set things right before the weekend. There’s something oddly satisfying about tidying up those virtual corners.

Managed to squeeze in some studio time. It was great to focus on the end-of-day routine, tidying up and bringing some order to the space. It’s like a little ritual that helps clear the mental clutter too. I even managed to get a very short weeknotes video out, which I consider a tiny victory given the scattered week.

On a whim, I tried to grab my camera to rekindle that old photographic passion. Turns out the battery was flat. Not the most thrilling moment of the day, but at least I’ve charged it up now. I should be all set for tomorrow – always another day for capturing those little moments.

The highlight of the day? Finding out that I’m done with jury duty! What a relief. One week felt long enough, and I’m chuffed to bits that it’s not running into next week. Can finally get back to focusing on studio projects without the constant interruption.

As for the rest of the weekend, I plan to plunge back into some fiction books. They’ve been a pleasant escape lately. Here’s to a relaxing weekend and recharging for the week ahead.
