Friday Fundamentals

Today was one of those days when the blend of art and tech just clicks, making everything feel a bit like magic, but without the rabbits and hats. It was all about bringing my world of coding into the visual sphere for Instagram and keeping it creative and systematic. A quirky task that turned into today's highlight was figuring out how to get Kitty to wrap images with those chic white borders for Instagram – talk about giving my digital presence a face-lift!

The nuts and bolts of my morning were spent on this tiny triumph. I managed to get Kitty to automate adding borders around images for that neat, framed look on Instagram. Coding might not be paint and brushes, but for me, it's equally art. These little wins make me keen to explore how much further I can push the code to blend into my creative practice.

Then, it was off to the editing suite – my laptop, that is – for an episode of #weeknotes video editing. Diving into editing is like going down a rabbit hole; you start with one clip, and before you know it, you're piecing together a narrative that wasn't there before. The process was more scattered today, a bit all over the place, echoing the scattered creativity that sometimes defines a week in the studio.

By mid-afternoon, I had wrapped up editing and moved on to review the final cut. Making sure the export worked was crucial; nothing like the anticlimax of a failed video transfer to put a damper on the day's achievements. Luckily, all went smoothly.

On reflection, the day was a fulfilling blend of tech tinkering and creative output. Sure, I didn't get around to drafting the script or diving back into the pre-seed project. However, improvising my digital content strategy for Instagram and managing to squeeze in a full cycle of video production for #weeknotes more than made up for the oversight.

Today wasn't about crossing off every item on the to-do list; it was about balancing the scales between creativity and relaxation, technological craft, and artistic expression. A chilled, productive vibe underpinned by the successes and partial pauses that come with any creative endeavour.

And as the workday curtain draws to a close, I'm now gearing up to switch off from work mode and transition into the weekend's calm. The studio's a bit warmer, echoing the gentle entry into a hopefully sunny weekend where the pace slows down, and the mind gets to wander a bit more freely.

In a way, it's these moments of stepping back, reflecting in a slightly chaotic but structured day, that keep the wheels turning, both in and out of the studio. Now, if I could just remember to stay hydrated!
