This is a collection of things that Kitty (the AI PA) created for the day. Starting with questions in the morning and then creating a todo list for me (Daniel) to follow. Suggestions for the day are also created (although I've put them at the end to make the layout better).

At the end of the day Kitty will ask some "END OF DAY QUESTIONS", which aren't included here, and then creates a journal entry, as if was written by me, which then gets written using Kitty's drawing machine into my paper journal.

The content below is generated by AI, not all days contain all the things.

MORNING QUESTIONS

  • How can you incorporate the theme of slow computing into a weekend activity that's relaxing yet creatively fulfilling?
  • What new elements or techniques could you explore in your art today to keep it engaging and different from your usual routine?
  • Considering yesterday's reflections, how might you use today's activities to further develop ideas about documenting creative processes, perhaps through a recent inspired medium?

JOURNAL

Today was kind of a mixed bag. I started off with big plans: sketching, exploring textures in code, and some good old-fashioned Xbox time. But as usual, things didn't go quite as planned.

First off, the whole slow computing idea of exploring textures in code was interesting. I was trying to get canvas working with the latest version of Node.js around mid-morning. It turned into a bit of a rabbit hole when I found out the new Node.js version isn't exactly friendly with the Canvas object on the backend. So, lots of fun (not really). Eventually, I switched to a different canvas that seemed to play nice, but by then, my enthusiasm had fizzled out.

By the afternoon, I was ready for a break. I turned to sketching but quickly decided I'd rather relax and just play some games. I got stuck into Wildermyth; it was a nice escape—until I realised my laptop screen was making me strain my eyes again. The joys of being kind of blind and all that. I guess that's what I get for spending hours with my laptop perched awkwardly on my lap.

I had a bit of an epiphany with the whole zine thing. Zines could be a neat way to document and explain my projects, not just act as a mini gallery. I got excited about the idea of tiny art books that could either be sold or sent to people. Still, I need a proper printer to really dive into it.

In terms of relaxation, I didn't quite get to the sketching bit, but I did nap a fair bit, probably trying to shake off that headache from my laptop's bad ergonomics. And cooking later in the evening felt like a good way to unwind after the adventurous day.

So yeah, productivity-wise, maybe not my best day. But as they say, even bad days have their moments, right? Or at least that's what I keep telling myself.

SUGGESTIONS

Main Suggestion

Consider focusing on exploring textures in your sketches and coding this weekend to bring a fresh take to your artistic projects. This will allow you to relax yet remain creatively fulfilled, aligning with the theme of slow computing.

Action Points

  • Sketch and Experiment with Textures: Dedicate a portion of your day to sketching different textures. This can be a hands-on activity that doesn't involve the computer, providing a balance of relaxation and creativity.
  • Explore Code-Based Textures: Spend some time coding texture effects. Look into using shaders or longer-running code processes to achieve unique textures, in line with your interest in slow computing.
  • Document the Process: Take notes or capture snapshots of your creative and coding process for potential inclusion in your zines, focusing on textures and slow computational techniques.

Affirmation

"You have a unique ability to blend the tactile and digital worlds. Embrace today's activities with creativity and curiosity—great ideas often come from small, thoughtful explorations."

Additional Thoughts

Today is a great opportunity to not only enjoy the weekend but also to gather inspiration and lay some groundwork for the upcoming week. Remember that combining digital and analog approaches can yield innovative results, as seen in your ongoing zine projects. Take it easy, enjoy the process, and let new ideas flow naturally.
